Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is a common ingredient in everything from plastic to paint. It is produced by a number of multi-billion dollar chemical manufactures, including Kronos Worldwide. Thus, it goes without saying that recent studies linking TiO2 to cancer represents a large risk for the company. Here are some of the studies:

Here's more information on the chemicals used in fracking fluid. Considering it could inject carcinogenic chemicals into my drinking water, I'd be okay with placing a ban on fracking, even though our gas prices would likely be higher.

What does the community think about fracking?

Here's another resource that discusses alternatives, known as "non-frack stimulation technologies"

I agree that fracking should be banned. It is not only potentially harmful to the environment, but more importantly to the people in the community.
If the fracking fluid does spill into the water source, depending on type of water source it could affect millions of people and potentially be hard to trace back to ground zero. Eliminating the problem after a contamination could be a nightmare.

Here's an interesting argument from the other side of the coin - "Some Fracking Critics Use Bad Science"

And yet another EPA report that says fracking chemicals have been found in drinking water:
