Here is another social media graphic that I think a lot of people don't understand, or take time to understand. Which social media site is appropriate for the type of connection and content the user intends to share.
Mashable is a good infographic reasouce as well as Good.is Social Network Understanding |

Cool, thanks for sharing! I completely agree with the dilution problems of Facebook. I also read today that they monitor your chat for criminal activity...it seems like the Social Network is becoming more and more like Big Brother every day

I agree completely. That is why I have been shorting Facebook since it launched. I do not see a comprehensive growth strategy. What I see are haphazard acquisitions with no immediate benefit. I see lots of potential privacy concerns and I see them trying to be all things to all people.
Hmmm, that sounds a lot like MySpace... I think Facebook has been on a slippery slope since they opened the entire platform to everyone. The community was much better when it was just college students and alumni. I rarely even get on Facebook anymore because I lost interest. I think sites that have social network aspects but not focused solely on entertainment are the disrupters. WealthLift is a great example. You can network about stocks and learn and can be entertained but the focus is on social learning and education. |
